The Detroit Lions have just made a huge signing.
They are bringing David Montgomery from the Bears.
This means Jamaal Williams will not be coming back for the team.
The Detroit Lions will have a new a workhorse in their backfield in 2023.
The Lions reached agreement on a three-year, $18 million contract with Chicago Bears free agent running back David Montgomery late Tuesday night, according to multiple reports.
Montgomery’s signing, which can become official at 4 p.m. Wednesday, likely means the end of Jamaal Williams’ time in Detroit.
The Lions are stacking this roster.
Williams had an unreal season last but I think Montgomery will be even better.
I will say looking at Williams’ stats last year he was even better than I thought. With that being said I don’t think Montgomery’s stats tell the entire story of the player he is. I think this is a huge win for the Lions. This is a great price for him as well.
