Russell Westbrook fired longtime agent Thad Foucher a few weeks ago. This was after disagreements over the future of Westbrook’s career.
He has now signed with Jeff Schwartz.

He might be negotiating a buyout.
With Westbrook’s future in Los Angeles unknown, Schwartz may be looking to negotiate a buyout for the nine-time All-Star. Westbrook has played for four teams in as many years and struggled last season with the Lakers.
Schwartz has negotiated buyouts before, most notably with Kemba Walker on multiple occasions, so this could lead to a new home for Westbrook and a shakeup in the NBA.
This is really a make-or-break year for Russell Westbrook. Last season was simply bad and all eyes are on the Lakers because they will be viewed as a title contender. If Westbrook gets bought out it is unlikely he would be able to find his way to a title contender.
