Amid the chaos of this offseason for the Nets one player is interested in joining the roster – that player is Dwight Howard.
According to a new report, there is mutual interest between Dwight Howard and the Nets.
While the Brooklyn Nets have already capitalized during their hectic offseason, they look to add another veteran role player to their roster.
According to a basketball scooper Brandon “ScoopB” Robinson, veteran Dwight Howard has mutual interest with Brooklyn. Robinson said the following on Spotify Live, “I reached out to Dwight (Howard) directly and I’ll tell you that there is mutual interest between him and the Brooklyn Nets.”
Dwight Hoard is obviously not the player he used to be – that does not mean he can’t still play.
Last season in just 16 minutes a game we saw Howard average 6 points and 6 rebounds. That is a great stat line for someone playing less than 20 minutes a game.
This would be a huge pickup for the Nets.
If they do end up signing Howard this gives us massive insight into the Nets’ mindset moving forward. Despite the appearance, they want to blow up their team and trade Durant/Kyrie this move would show it’s all for show. You don’t sign a veteran like Howard if you plan on going through a rebuild.
