This might be one of the worst playoff games I have watched in quite some time.
It was low-scoring but I wouldn’t even say it was because the good defense was being played – both teams simply missed shots.
In the first half, the Celtics looked like she didn’t even want to be on the court. They scored 37 points and allowed 8 offensive rebounds. Luckily for them, the Heat could only muster 42 points.
The second half was a different story. Brown and Tatum came alive and the Celtics ended up winning by 13. (93-80)
I want to begin by saying a playoff win is a playoff win. Great teams find a way to win playoff games even when they don’t play great. Credit to this team for winning the must-win game and bringing themselves one win away from the NBA Finals.
With that being said the Celtics need to start putting together better games. Against a team like the Warriors (or even the Mavs) the inconsistency and sloppy play will not fly. If the Celtics play like this against the Warriors they will lose.
Brown and Tatum have to stop turning the ball over. Smart needs to be the steady point guard he has shown he can be and Robert Williams needs to be a force that can be relied upon.
Robert Williams dominated this game when he was on the floor defensively. However, if he can’t play due to injuries he will not be as big of a factor.
The Celtics need to use Game 6 to send a message. That message should be we are ready for the finals and we are the best team in the NBA – they have shown signs of that this playoffs but are yet to put it all together in back-to-back games.
